After our incredible weekend at High Pocket Farm in Shelburne Falls, we’ve fallen more in love with the Berkshires region!
Upstate New York: Stephentown, NY
I love this little farmhouse, with its cozy living room and sunny kitchen. With over 300 acres, it is the largest private property available in the Berkshires, giving you plenty of land for hikes or horseshoes. And with five bedrooms, there’s plenty of room for a family getaway or for entertaining friends.

New England: Lenox, MA
I absolutely love this Victorian house tucked away in Lenox, MA, not far from the Tanglewood estate, where the Boston Symphony Orchestra decamps to every summer for a series of outdoor concerts. The amazing Kripalu Center for Yoga & Health is also only a short walk away. The house itself has charming, farmhouse detailing and a lovely little hammock in the side garden for afternoon naps overlooking the meadow.

High Pocket Farm is a beautiful, secluded house nestled high up in the mountains in Colrain, MA on the edge of a working goat farm. We stayed here this past weekend and just loved having such a peaceful and relaxing escape from city life.

Shelburne Falls, MA is a charming and picturesque town right on the edge of Vermont and the Berkshire Mountains. We spent a long weekend there to celebrate Cathy’s 30th birthday and soak up some of the local culture.
While our haul was limited to small items, we picked up a few new favorites. Erika bought a lovely picnic basket as well as these amazing yellow and white drink holders on stakes for around the campfire or at the beach. I found a mahogany two drawer cabinet for my husband’s desk with deep drawers but a small profile.

Since January, we’ve spent countless hours talking about, planning, and getting excited for Brimfield. While we didn’t have any specific treasures in minds, we went open to ideas for great finds to bring home. I can’t count the number of times we said, “We need a house for all of this great junk!” Sadly, in the meantime, we picked up some great small items for our city apartments and had a wonderful day filled with great junk, entertaining vendors, and delicious hot dogs!

Our friends Adam and Chrissy rented an amazing house in Great Barrington, and they invited us to visit last weekend. We relaxed in front of the fire, ate delicious meals, and explored town. Saturday afternoon cocktail hour was enjoyed around a long farm table at the Bell & Anchor. On Sunday, we stopped by the amazing Great Barrington Antiques Center, where I found two new mashers for my collection, and the Hillsdale General Store, which offers new and vintage housewares.
Cathy’s Hudson Valley pick: Hillsdale, NY
Hillsdale is just over the Massachusetts state line from Great Barrington and has a lovely downtown. In addition to the Hillsdale General Store, there was an ice cream shop and a country restaurant.
I love that most of the interior of this house is white washed, giving it an airy feel, and much of the bead board remains. The huge upstairs bedroom looks perfect for big groups, and the master bedroom has a wood burning stove!
