Pendleton Plaid Party – New Years Eve 2013

Unlike many twenty somethings who travel to the city for New Years, our friends have a tradition of fleeing our city as fast as we can to celebrate in Upstate New York on Lake George.   Age-appropriate behavior takes a further hit: We jigsaw puzzle and wine guzzle.

But the pièce de résistance of this year’s friend-family feast is most certainly the tablescape.  The theme: Pendleton Plaid.  Weeks spent planning: Four and a half.  Time spent at the actual table: About 30 minutes.  Worth it.

Let’s break it down.

Plaid tablecloth accented with a burlap runner

Multiple plaids working in harmony

Vintage trophy filled with green poms and seasonal fronds

Ambiance a la oil lamp

and also, this happened:

Vintage plaid suit: feels like pajamas, parties like a tuxedo.
